Rod placement and drapery length
can completely alter the proportion of a window within a room.
Traditionally, draperies are mounted at least 6” above the edge of
the window and hemmed so the fabric barely reaches the floor.
For a sleeker look, they can be hung at the window molding and/or
cover only the frame of the window. For
a more luxurious look, which would require additional fabric, draperies can
be mounted near the ceiling and/or puddle dramatically on the floor.
